Blood test
They check for hormones. Google might be able to help or ask your GP if you are getting the tests done. If you are hairy, overweight, irregular periods, or no periods at all..there is a chance you have it..I was diagnosed by a scan, as I didn't have the excess hair or was not overweight at the time.
Did you have blood tests before the scan? As I'm also not overweight or have excess hair but rarely get a period, as in I've had 1 in 6months. waiting to speak with gp in a few days about results but was told when I booked the results looked normal.
I never had blood tests when I was diagnosed, I have had the tests recently for fertility reasons. I had the scan and it showed pcos, although recently my ovaries look normal and I do have periods, 10 years ago when I was diagnosed I didn't. I'd push for the scan if you can, for piece of mind. Being underweight and stress can also cause no periods I believe.
They check for testosterone ( male hormones) they check your hormone levels and they will also check to see if your ovulating properly ( if trying for a baby ) I'm going throught all tests now plus I had a scan to defo confirm pcos x
