Hi!
I have been diagnosed with PCOs in 2016, when I was 16 years old, after my period didn’t come back for 6 months. I started taking the contraceptive pill (Yasmin) a few months later, and my periods were finally normal!
A few months ago, I started noticing side effects caused by the pill, such as painful periods, migraines, etc. I contacted my gynaecologist and she recommended that I stopped taking Yasmin for 3 months, so I am now off the pill; she also prescribed me another contraceptive pill, Yaz, that I will start taking in a month or so.
My first period after the interruption came back 8 days late, but was 5 days long and looked very similar to my menstrual cycles on the pill. The second period, though, came back 4 days before usual, lasted for 2 days only and was very poor.
A few days after this 2-day-long period, and also when my period was initially supposed to come back, I started feeling a sense of pressure where my left ovary is.. it was like something was moving. This lasted for a few days.
I should now be 2 or 3 days post-ovulation, and this weird feeling came back. I have already contacted my gynaecologist, who is in Italy where I am from, and she said that it could be caused by the blood not being fully released from the ovary due to my previous menstrual cycle.
I don't know if any of you have experienced this before, but I would like to know if I should go to a walk-in centre or A&E, or maybe book an appointment with my GP, as I am scared of a potential ovarian cyst that is about to explode.
Please answer me as soon as possible! In the meantime, I hope that this feeling will go away as I stop ovulating..
