Hello,

My gynaecologist referred me to the fertility clinic and I have an appointment next week, I’m just wondering what will actually happen at my appointment ?

it varies hugely, they do tend to recheck the tests and your partner will be tested as well as 1/3 of fertility issues are men now. I had a laparoscopy next with ovarian drilling and about 11 other things and then tried for 6 months, then clomid which didnt do it for me and then IUI and conceived 2nd attempt.

At our first appointment they measured routine things like height and weight. They then went over the test results I had already (bloods and ultrasound) and spoke about the other tests that need done then discussed potential options for treatment. They will organise semen analysis if not already done. They also tend to organise testing to make sure your tubes are not blocked (I had a Hysterosalpingography organised). They also gave us reading material and info about services available such as counselling etc.
