The combined contraceptive pill can mask all the pcos symptoms which an help especially if you take 3 months on the trot. PCOS affects everyone differently. Also ignore anything that says you wont be able to have children as you will, it is extremely rare not to be able to conceive just due to pcos
Urgh that annoys me. I was told i had pcos when i was 14 i had one gyno tell me to lose weight....that wont cure it and at 14 wasnt the nicest.
The website will tell u everything but the thing with pcos is we all different symptoms and i guess maybe different strengths of pcos if thats the right term i.e. some will be thin; some arent; some have excess hair some dont. Some get periods some dont. Unfortunately there is no cure. U jst need to find what works for u.
I have found alternative methods have helped like acupuncture. When i wasnt looking to conceive i used minera coil it was the best for me to manage side effects. Weight can affect it so if ur not already trying to be more active by maybe gym or new hobbie (exercise related) will help ur well being. A lot of the docs are rubbish with pcos tbh which is frustrating. Im 35 now and i would think they wud have got better in the last 20 yrs but obvs not.
Pcos is really common so ur not alone. What are ur symptons? Is there something ur looking to remedy? X
So I am 20 years old go gym alot I used to be 28 stone and now I'm 15 stone they want me to lose more my symptoms are irregular periods ,hair loss, acne,
Wow well done on the weight loss. Ok im no doc but i used something called environ accumax pills for my skin they are expensive but once uve started using them you can take less supplements i think its 2 a day the u cud go to 1. Dont get sucked in with all their products i thought the pill helped. Id also recommend the minera coil. They werent keen to give me it initially as they said its more for folk who have kids dont know why. But i eventually got it. I found that i lost weight on it as i had more energy. The only thing with coil is you may not have any periods and u might not be keen if u plan a family one day but as i say im 35 with a baby and ive never had regular periods so whenever u decide to have a family there are always ways to help.
Id go back to the doc and ask what they have as options to manage ur symptons. If ur doc is not well versed in pcos i would as for a gyno referral. Dont take the first thing they offer either. Do some research and think it over. Same with my comments these things worked for me but everyone is different.
I dont know anything about hair loss sorry but as i say i would include all these issues in ur request to doc or gyno for something to help manage ur symptons.
Hope this helps....u have to be pushy with docs sometimes xx
BMI needs to be under 30 to qualify for fertility treatment. Mine was 30.6 when I conceived Noah.
Remember having a period does not mean you are ovulating and you can ovulate without one - look at fertilityfriends website as it says what signs to look for and taking your temperature is the most accurate way. A 1/3 of fertility issues are men so make sure your partners diet is good, mine improved by over 100% in a year by eating things with zinc in them and also the Boots Vit C and zinc tablets so may be worth putting him on those just as precaution.
