What’s the next step?

Hi all,

After being diagnosed with PCOS back in July this year, I was given a 6 month supply of the combined pill Lucette to start taking to regulate my cycle and help with some of my other symptoms. I’ve been told by friends and seen online that I need to wait until the first day of my cycle to start taking the pill, or else it can further mess up my hormones.

However, I haven’t had a period in nearly 6 months, and I’m getting frustrated because I feel like I can’t do anything in the meantime before I start my period. I was wondering if anyone had any advice about what I should be doing, or whether I should just start taking my pill before my period comes?

I appreciate that I seem to be complaining about nothing, but I’m sure many of my fellow PCOS ladies can appreciate my frustration!

You can ask the GP for provera to force a period - I think you can take it with no period though as I am sure other ladies have done that.

It can take a few months to settle so I would stay on it for 6 months with the normal pill breaks and then take 3 months together as it reduces the symptoms further, as long as you have 4 periods a year its fine.
