Diagnosed today

Hello,

In the worst nutshell....

Diagnosed today, and have regular periods, but some facial hair (more than average), thinning hair, difficulty in loosing weight, despite being really active, poor sleep and oily skin (Im 31). Also spotting just prior to a period (3-5 days) but no one seems to mention this as a regular symptom?

Previously tried to get pregnant with husband, and failed. The fertility clinic reported that I worked fine (although had cysts on my ovaries) and that he had a low sperm count which the attributed to our difficulties. I was 27/8 at the time. In a nut shell, it broke our marriage.

I'm not in a position to be trying for children currently, but do hope that this is an option in the near future... is anyone able to comment on the likelihood of being able to conceive naturally and in 'standard' time? There is allot of horrible stuff on the internet, and I really hoped that I'd never have to set foot in a fertility clinic again..

Any advice would be gratefully received...

It’s hard to say, it’s been over a year for me and I’m not going though the fertility clinic and being treated for pcos I didn’t even know I had. But my friend got pregnant without fertility clinic help, she has pcos and was on metformin. It took a little longer than most but within a year she was pregnant. X

The standard time tends to be up to two years but you never really know how long it will take, one thing I would say to put your mind at rest is our egg quality remains better for longer so you have really until you are 40 before it really declines, it is the only good thing about pcos.

All I would say is keep your body in really good shape for when you want to go for it, also when you meet Mr Right then get him on the Boots Vit C and zinc tablets as a precaution to boost his wrigglers. My hubbie had lots of dead and two tailed sperm but his count and mobility improved by over 100% in a year (we did IUI and conceived 2nd attempt - I was 36)
