Hi my names Kelly and I’m 19 years old. Here goes nothing.. I was having regular periods from the age of 11 until February this year when it all just hoped. My partner and I had been trying for a baby (we’ve been together nearly 4 years) and was hoping for the best but sadly everything came back negative. As time went on I still had no period so in April I went to the doctors and to cut a long story short I was referred to a gynaecologist. It was there I discovered that not only do I have PCOS but I always have an under-active thyroid which really doesn’t help. After being put on medication to help with my thyroid I have recently started medication for my PCOS. My doctor thinks I’ll pregnant with in the next three months and if not they’ll refer me to a specialist. So that’s my current situation in a nut shell.

Here’s hoping for a baby very very soon✨✨

What medication are you on for pcos ? Have you had any other tests - e.g tubes checked that they aren't blocked? Has your partner been tested too ?

I’m on Norethisterone at the moment to try to bring my periods on. I’ve have scan but no tests on my tube and neither has my partner, we’re not at that stage yet

At least they are ensuring you have regular periods as that is crucial. I think it is quite worrying your Dr has said you will probably get pregnant in the next three months when other things haven't been checked out.

Anyway! There is loads of help available when you do want to officially start a family so don't worry about it, it is extremely rare not to conceive just because of pcos!

I was actually feeling very hopefully with what my doctor had said. Shes been very supportive this whole process, she’s worked with me on so many levels and has been a complete life line for me. Yes I am working on officially starting my family now, thank you for the advice..
