I was only diagnosed with pcos after a hystertomy and two further ops to remove remaining part of ovary due to cysts.
No one ever told me I suffered from this even though I had symptoms With erratic hormone problems and very light periods. One tip which certainly worked for me. I got pregnant three times straight after coming off pill and never any other time. Nearly 70 now and just had a small stroke and am border line diabetic which I am now told is due to pcos as it causes these long term risks which are laid down from birth. So for anyone with this illness please make sure you are monitored when young (I had a chloestral of 6 when 28 and 8.5 stone) pretty annoyed these things could have been prevented so be your own doctor and insist on help with these side effects before it's too late. Don't think women are given same help with high chloestral in the same way as men so speak up and make sure you are looked after! If I can help even a small amount of women avoid the problems I am now faced with I will be happy!
