Hello all, I had my '21 day' blood results today. Over the phone I was told everything was normal but I asked for a printout and my progesterone was 2.0nmol/L. In the next column it says normal range in luteal phase is 8.4 - 67.1. Bit confused by this, would really appreciate any advice! Thanks for reading.

Progesterone levels
Ooh not may area I am afraid but 21 day blood for us often comes back in the normal range as we are not 'normal' ladies, we are special. Have you been diagnosed already ?
Thanks very much for your reply. No not been diagnosed yet, been waiting about 5 weeks for my scan date but not had a letter come through yet.
Scans don't always show cysts as they are a symptom and not the cause so don't let them fob you off that because you don't have cysts you don't have pcos as this seems to be a frequent occurrence - in the early days they thought the cysts were the issue (hence the name) further research has shown they are only a symptom and not the cause. Good luck
I would highly recommend this book: goodreads.com/book/show/482...
I first read it through on publication over ten years ago but I'm currently re-reading it after finding my symptoms are gradually getting worse after coming off Dianette a few years' ago. It has concise but very useful information on hormone levels and how to interpret them.
Did you ovulate?
Thank you Nicola, I will have a look at that next! Sorry your symptoms are still getting worse, that's so annoying. Pumpkins I am still really confused as going by my signs I geared up again and actually ovulated a week after I first thought I had, and so after my well planned '21 day' blood test. On day 43 of my cycle now. Doctor doesn't seem too concerned that my '21 day' bloods didn't prove ovulation as intended as they say my fsh/lh ratio is ok. But I thought that had to be compared at two points in the cycle also, pre and post ov?! Icing on the cake is they have cancelled my scan as they say my progesterone is ok. As you can see I definitely need to read up and do my pcos homework as it looks like I may need to work this out for myself!
