If you ever have doubts about being vegan remember this:
I had 4 CABGs before stents were in wide use, 1997. After years of medication for high blood pressure, I have been on a Whole Food Plant Based (WFPB) diet since March and the evidence of my blood pressure (117/70), cholesterol (2.7) and pulse (50-60) indicate that my arteries are cleared. So, it has taken only 6 months. My doctor is gradually taking me off all the meds- diuretics and statins have gone.
I recommend that you watch the film "Forks Over Knives". It is on Netflix and YouTube. It is about global medical health research and the findings, including a massive study of 800,000 Chinese people. You might find it helpful, I did. It convinced me to go WFPB (even healthier vegan). One bloke had 27 diseases. After 6 months WFPB he was down to 1.

Well done Jimmy and as you have proven you will reap the benefits of a vegan diet. The people who often disagree with a vegan diet have never tried it or have not stuck to it long enough to give a valid argument. I too have seen health problems disappear after choosing a vegan diet. Well done you, what better reward could you ask for as good health at the end of the day is everything ππ±π
Thanks for such an inspiring post, and congratulations on addressing your health issues so successfully.
I've got forks over knives on DVD somewhere, I watched it when I was first vegan but you've reminded me I should dig it out and watch it again!
Hey there jimmyq , well done to you and what an inspiring post.
I've been Vegan for around 8 to 10 weeks now and love it. I have IBS and it seems to be slowly improving although I cannot eat raw food i.e. salad. I have found also that I now detest the smell of meat.
When I started this diet I could shit for England. As my body has got used to it, it has calmed down a bit but I am still amazed at how much I can produced. This might be what is happening with you.
