I got an esa letter today telling me that the money they pay me has changed. my heart sank. then I saw the magic words

"because you are in the support group"

the relief is huge!

I had put in an appeal and heard nothing.

I'm waiting for a letter to tell me more.

regards,

sandra.

That is brilliant news Sandra. Looking forward to hearing more.

Congratulations lets hope more people get their letters.

It's just a shame you have to fight for your rights.

Hope it continues to be good news Sandra... these assessments and appeals are so distressing and so unfair... but it is lovely to hear good news.. :-)

John is supporting a young man of 28 with an appeal at the moment, he has WG, diagnosed at the age of 15, been ill for two years previously so missed all his schooling, his beneifits were just stopped, no warning, just stopped..he had just got his own flat and some independence.... ..

Please can you help me with this as I got the same letter saying I am "in the support group". I'm worried they are going to start pressuring me to work when I am unable to at the moment x

I don't really understand what that means to be in the support group. It's so stressful filling out these forms and having benefits reviewed, I feel very stressed at the moment and anxious about it all xx

the support group means that they have accepted you are not fit for work.

the work related activity group means you have to attend regular app'ts at the job centre.

Thanks Sandra, that's a relief. I am in this group and I have been so worried I would be made to work when I am having a bad flare. Thanks for your help, I think I will get a good nights sleep tonight :-) x
