What do you think?

I feel saddened and quite shocked that even on these deeply personal and sensitive forums, we have to be on our guard against people like these (Post sent directly to my inbox). I hope that the hosts do something about it. I have reported this.

Stay alert.

Best wishes, Jules. 🐈✨

It is up to the person receiving such dross to report it to HU - only you can see what is in your Chat, it is secure, UNLESS you report it to them they cannot see it either and take action.

It is like the good old days of scams. I must have received similar ones at least fifteen years ago. I wonder if they still manage to fool people?

I must admit I do religiously watch BBC Scam Interceptors and am amazed how people believe what they are told by the scammers. I am also surprised they still use the idea of going to your bank. Old fashioned banks seem to have closed down their branches, mine has, and the new ‘modern’ banks don’t even have any branches.

Unfortunately some people just seem gullible - and I guess the mention of banks to the older generations makes it more plausible .. I don’t know. Last time I went to my local bank was to pay in a stash of 5ps which I used to do at local village post office until it closed. Prior to that was probably over 10 years ago when hubby died. It is another one about to close..

Have a very close relative who is CEO of a ‘modern’ bank and has been associated with previous ones for at least 20 years and you say- no bricks and mortar just online..except for HQ offices.

I suppose they go for older people living in towns. I am not sure where my ‘local’ branch is for my bank as our really local one closed a while back much to everyone’s annoyance. In fact I haven’t a clue where my bank is now as branches are closing down everywhere.
