I have EGPA, for which I have Methotrexate and 5mg prednisilone. Having just had to take antibiotics for an abcess, I am left with the side effects, which I can't shift, despite taking the last dose on tuesday. I stopped my Methotrexate for one week, but resumed on wednesday. I am battling with cold sores, thrush, and a dodgy tummy, feeling generally pretty run down.
Any advice, clever peeps?

Cold sores will improve with acyclovir cream - if they are viral that is and due to being run-down. I keep a tube in my handbag to use as soon as I feel one starting.
You can get topical treatment for thrush.
Now you have finished the abx, you may find that a really good probiotic will help settle the gut problems - I use #VSL3
It sounds like the good bacteria in your guts have been badly affected by the antibiotics. I would be looking to eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables with plenty of fibre, variety is key. I would also look at fermented foods like live yogurts.
Hi Sarah..I have had reactions to antibiotics as well...some of your side effects but for me thay have all cleared up pretty much by the end of the course. Hopefully all will be well..I am on Mepo and Pred. Best wishes and heres to a positive outcome. Lev
