Antibody test after 4th dose

Hi all

I had an antibody test from Medichecks 2.5 weeks after the fourth vaccination. I have vasculitis and small fibre neuropathy (erythromelalgia) and I take RTX.

The result was 53.2 micrograms per ml. The written response did say that these figures should be treated with caution if you are immuno-suppresse.

Any one with comparable experience of antibody testing? Would be very grateful to get some context to make this result more real.

love and blessings

I don't think there is any evidence thus far to link the numbers to the strength of the immune response and protection. It takes a long time to gather that sort of evidence and it is still happening.

I just assume I can still catch it and wear my FFP2 mask whenever out - as of yesterday here in Italy the mask is no longer required outside unless you are in a crowd. But I noticed on the news last night that a lot of people were still wearing one. I shall be anywhere near anyone else.

I will definitely be wearing a mask as well . I usually wear disposable ones but thinking of getting a supply of FFP2 masks . Do you think they would be good for plane travel as well , planning to go to apartment in Spain in March .

They are considered the reasonable option here - FFP3 masks are a bit better as they fit better onto the face. I don't object to wearing them at all, I find them more comfortable than the surgical masks - which actually are pretty useless as they fit so loosely. It's the closeness of fit that is important. The FFP2 ones don't slip dwn either - never ceases to amaze me how many people think they don't breathe through their noses ...

The FFP2 masks are more comfortable as PM R pro has said as as the fit is better over your nose (metal strip) your glasses don’t steam up. I were mine whenever I’m in a shop etc and it’s extremely comfortable. Prices have reduced via Amazon. The FFP3 are a higher protection but are more expensive.

Thanks for info Main , just googling and you are advised to have these masks without the valve on flights . I will order some tomorrow on amazon .

I have no antibodies after three vaccinations. On the advice of my consultant I switched to FFP3. - feel safer tho still very careful. 95% protection.

I have had my 4th jab and am on Mepo and down to 8 mg/day pred and scored "in excess of 2500" on the same test. Same score as my wife who is not immune suppressed. I know others on Rituximab who are also scoring in your range..even one person with a zero. Be positive and remember the anti body score is not the full picture re protection.

My antibody test was 3.1 u/ml after 3 vaccines. I’m on prednisone and Rituximab. I wear FFP3 masks on planes, in hospitals & crowded places (although I do tend to avoid these)!

Hi, had my rituximab infusion on the 5th November and had bloods taken just before the infusion for an antibody test. Had4th jab on the 8th January, and tomorrow having 2 lots of blood taken 1 for the antibody test and one to see if I'm having a vasculitis flare, then just have to wait for the results.

Tanks everyone for these interesting replies. It also looks on a sample here of two that RTX is the culprit

My OH has had 3 Covid vaccines and has no antibodies. He is in RTX and MMF. Think you are right it does seem to be those that are receiving RTX but a big plus is that it works really well for GPA and keeping well and in remission is worth the infusion.

He has good T cells ! Will be interesting to see what the 4th vaccine does.

Hi….. I’ve had three vaccines and I’ve havent developed any antibodies and I have low amounts of T cells… not surprising as I have hypogammaglobuliena as well as EGPA…. Tested by Immonology at Oxford but I’m going for my 4th jab in a few days time… I can only hope!😂 I have FFP 2 and 3 masks in crowed outdoor areas and inside but I rarely go out.
