New user suffering increasing levels of stiffness etc

Good evening. This is my first ever post. My wife suggested that I join up as she has found this type of forum to be incredibly her condition.

Hope you are still awake after reading my lengthy ‘bio’.

I hope to see one of the rheumatology consultants in 2 weeks for the first time, (due to retirement of original consultant).

I am concerned about 2 things:-

-increasing levels of stiffness that I am experiencing, and,

-pain I am starting to get in the ball of one foot this afternoon and hoping it does not lead to a long term problem with my foot.

Does anyone have any thoughts / experience of anything like the above? If so, I would appreciate your thoughts.

Many thanks

Hi I would try health unlocked PMRGCAuk. You should get many more replies.🤞

I’m newly diagnosed so in a different position but before diagnosis I couldn’t walk properly due to the severe pain in the balls of my feet - I had this for about 8 months though sometimes it would ease off. Also had pain and stiffness in hands/fingers, shoulders, knees and intermittently other joints too. Since starting on high dose Prednisolone the pain and stiffness has gone for me, so I’m hoping there’s no permanent damage and the steroids aren’t just masking it. I’m currently on 20mg, so a much higher dose than you’ve recently come off looking at your bio.

Someone else in the comments has mentioned trying the PMRGCAuk group where you might get more relevant experiences from people relapsing.

Hope the pain is resolved for you.

After referral to a foot specialist at my local hospital, & a diagnosis of Morton's Neuroma in one foot, I now have hospital orthotics which fit into both my shoes. The orthotics took away the severe pain entirely & are not visible when wearing the shoes. The Morton's Neuroma diagnosis predated my Vasculitis diagnosis so probably not connected.

Hi check out earthing recovery bag or earthing sheet or mat . This really helps me . The Tour de France cyclists use the recovery bags you will find information about it online . I hope you feel better soon .
