Vaccination of household contacts of severely immunosuppressed people

Looks like letters are starting to go out from the Scottish Chief Medical Officer to extremely immunosuppressed people whose household contacts are now eligible for the vaccine. Similar letters should - I think - be going out in England etc. sometime too. Basically because being heavily immunosuppressed we may not get enough protection from the vaccine, and need extra protection. This is separate from the unpaid carers vaccination programme. So if you're on the shielding list due to heavy immunosuppression you can expect a letter any day in Scotland, hopefully soon if elsewhere. Appointments for household contacts are to be arranged via the vaccination helpline. Rather bizarrely my letter came from Somerset! But got it. My husband has already been done ahead of his age group as my unpaid carer. And yes I'm quite angry it's taken so long for this to be arranged. This group was supposed to be prioritised alongside priority group 6, so yonks ago ...

I agree I don’t understand why members of the same household of CEV have not been vaccinated before this. I am lucky as was fully vaccinated in January.

This has only added to the stress of living with someone that is CEV .

Hi I’ve tried numerous avenues to try and find out how to get my household vaccinated but haven’t been given any answers. I have 2 adult children at home who would be right at the end of the age group vaccination program. Hopefully now we will soon be contacted
