Weaker response to Covid vaccination

Interesting Article in the Daily Mail today, concerning autoimmune conditions and a weaker response to the jab. Has anyone spoken to there consultants about continuing to shield, especially as the Gov have issued letters advising us no longer to shield now? The article suggests that we continue to take extra precautions even if you are luckily enough to have both doses of the vaccine. Clearly an area that more research is needed.

Yes, it is an interesting article, although I don't think the additional precautions it is suggesting are much different from the guidance in the latest government advice letter on shielding. Hopefully in the coming weeks the research study data on immune response for immunosupressed will be released. It will be interesting to know how well we are protected

Yes definitely taking things slow and still being careful. Still shielding ! I had the AZ one and no antibodies after the first dose - hopefully it will be better after my second dose ! My consultant advised I should be careful and still work from home! He also mentioned I might need a third Vaccine dose - no ideea how this will be possible,if and when ...

But just the idea that everyone will want to go back to normal,to be out and about as soon as possible...makes me feel I should be more careful !!
