The Rare Autoimmune Rheumatic Disease Alliance (RAIRDA) have just published a report based on a survey of 1,300 people with rare autoimmune rheumatic conditions.

These people are facing a Chronic Crisis as the impact of COVID-19 exacerbates issues they faced before the pandemic.This has been a difficult period for many people with rare autoimmune rheumatic diseases. Many have been shielding. Many have had their care disrupted and some have found this has already impacted their ability to manage their condition.

Thank you for the link to this report. It is very clear in its findings and recommendations. Our experience under COVID seems to mirror what we normally experience, that is, patchy and inconsistent and with low levels of knowledge about rare auto immune diseases. The Alliance is an excellent organisation, to pull together and give us a greater voice as a group.
