In some patients a rise in ANCA does occur before a relapse although not always some people can relapse with a negative ANCA . Symptoms seem to gradually occur. In some people a mild infection seems to trigger a relapse or severe stress. A reduction in immunosuppressive medications can also trigger relapse. Hope that this helps. The crucial thing is if you are having a relapse see a specialist vasculitis team asap.

Thank You AmyS1,

I was hoping that someone who had an increase in PAnca would answer me.

My daughter has been diagnosed with Microscopic polyangiitis whan she was 10 years old. She is 17 now.

6 years Anca was negative. Over a year ago, they became positive again. Her physical and clinical condition and biochemistry are ideal.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
