An Old but 'PRESSING' Problem

Dear All,

Apart from, seemingly 'Endless' Crank Phone Calls, what other Problems have People- Members & Non-Members- been asking/ reporting? That, most 'Pressing' of Problems....CONSTIPATION- Yes that HARD problem (yet) again!

Unfortunately the Answers haven't changed either, no Magic Wand- to fee our Blocked Bowels. (No Panacea To POO- No Formula For Filling The Bowl- No Potion, To Make Us, Poop Our Pants- No Mixtures To Make Us Mess- No 'Candy' For Our Ca Ca- No Doughnuts To Help Us 'Dollop' Dabs Of Doo Doo- No Gobstoppers To Help Us 'GO' and definitely NO LARGE CORKS!)

As mentioned above, Certain 'Painkillers'- the 'Opioid' type- cause Constipation, since we are often Prescribed these.....

One, or more, of you have already answered/ commented on similar 'Posts' but if anyone has ANY New Ideas then, I know, we would ALL like to hear them.

In the Mean Time I wish you 'Good Relief', my Friends. Warmest Wishes

AndrewT

Hi Andrew, the pain of everyone who are on painkillers. I have come to the conclusion that l must be one of the lucky ones! l have to take paracetamol, pregabalin plus morphine patches but rarely suffer from "IT". What l do find that helps is eating "Alpen" once a week. Also I had a Linda McCartney Leek & Cheese pastry on Friday and that did the trick as well, having said that, when l do get "bunged up" - it doesn't happen very often - but it's hell to get rid of. :-)

Hi Andrew, I have suffered from the dreaded constipation (sorry) all my life. In fact I wonder whether it could have contributed to the autoimmune/auto inflammatory condition I’m suffering from - Behçet’s Disease (a form of vasculitis). Here in Australia if you land in hospital the nurses have a mission to make sure you ‘go’ at least once a day. They gaily hand out little tablets that are a mixture of a softener (docusate sodium) and senna - usually two with each meal until there are ‘results’. As already mentioned with all the medications we are taking for pain - no wonder we have problems. If things get worse there is a product called lactulose which I find very effective. Hope that helps, Lesley

Hi Andrew, I started to drink this for the lovely taste and after a while realised that it had the effect you are after! 😉..... I go to a slimming club and the low cal alternative to Pimms is a few drops of balsamic vinegar in a glass of diet lemonade, throw a few mint leaves and some ice, cucumber & strawberries and it is a gorgeous summer drink. When I have limited stocks in the fridge just the balsamic vinegar & lemonade alone suffices. It was only after a few occasions of drinking this that I realised its effect, I asked around and others noticed this effect on them too!

May be worth a try? As I say, sounds vile but is so tasty and refreshing that after water, it is my ‘go to’ refreshing drink. Good luck and hope you find something that works for you 🤞🏻
