Does anyone know if there are any problems with hand foot and mouth disease as a sufferer of MPO Vasculitis? My son has it (he works in schools). As my immunity is suppressed I am concerned of any complications if I catch it!! Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hand Foot and mouth disease
You DO mean HAND, foot and mouth disease I assume? Totally different illness
The most important thing is that your doctor is aware that adults CAN catch it (as evidenced by your son working in schools and getting it) because many assume that only children get it! Have you been in close contact with him during the symptoms and just before?

suggests use of acyclovir may be useful for immunocompromised adults. Unfortunately this is the only report I can find for an immunocompromised person (or maybe it is fortunately as it means it isn't a common event!).
Seems like there’s been a resurgence of this disease (unscientific observation). My colleague (age 34) caught it from his infant son, who got it at daycare. Then, my daughter (age 21) came down with it as well— completely separate and unrelated to my colleague. I learned that my town was experiencing an epidemic. My doctor delayed starting my Rituxan treatments by one week, to be certain I was in the clear (which I was). Apparently many older individuals have developed a resistance to it, as they may have either had it as a child or were exposed and developed antibodies against. Not sure I answered your question, but rather shared my experience.
