I have times when for no reason while eating a bite into my gum or lip. Its very strange! I did not have this problem before my diseases.

Do you think it's a coincidence?

John suffered with swelling and mouth ulcers in the early weeks of being diagnosed and experienced problems but I don't think he does now but will ask him

I do not have GPA but do this quite often and frequently in my sleep. I have experienced this for a number of years and have a lot of scar tissue on the insides of my cheeks.

Yes. I have had GPA since 2013. I have noticed saliva problems and have bitten my tongue on several occasions. Muscle co-ordination in the mouth not as before. Never thought to mention this until your post. M

Thanks for your reply.

I think it must be related to the muscle co-ordination too. . It is very annoying and uncomfortable.

Interesting as I occasionally have this problem too. I also notice I sometimes dribble and have numbness in the left side of my face. Brain scan normal. So maybe a muscle thing. I have GPA

Do you know I never even considered what you describe as being remotely linked to my suspected GPA. But I too can relate to exactly what you are saying. Since my medical issues started I have regularly gone through phases of biting either my tongue or the inside of my mouth (which I never did before). As people have said, must be linked in some way to the muscles.

I have a lot of symptoms now that effect me , some occasionally and some daily.

I'm unsure of how many are to be expected and to just accept or to mention them to the specialist at the hospital.

The problem is, the only way of help is medication, which give side effects.

So are the symptoms caused by the disease or the medsS

SO. GLAD TO BE ALIVE and to have the steroids etc. even with the side effects.

I have arrived late to this thread. Yes I have suffered biting tongue and inside of mouth for about 5 years. This became a major problem when I started doing it in my sleep. See your hospitals orthodontist who will make a simple bite guard for sleeping. It must be related to vasculitis as I never had a problem before.
