I am asking on behalf of a friend who lives abroad and is seeking a private consultation for poorly responding livedoid vasculitis. Does anyone know of anyone who does this?

Private consultation for vasculitis
Professor David D’Cruz sees private patients at London Bridge hospital, you can look it and him up on Google. He heads rheumatology at Guy’s NHS hospital in London.
Natalie
I firstly sought advise from a private rheumatologist but they couldn’t help as it was such a specialist area but helped get me to see my nhs rheumatologist who has been a star and in 5 months nearly has me in remission!
He knew what to do and has thrown the kitchen sink at me in relation to drugs and tests but I think has saved me!
So my advise is ensure any private rheumatologist knows about vasculitis and your friends specific type
Hope that helps
Carolyn.
Good morning . Good on you to help your friend . I am sure you will get many responses as those among us who have had to seek “ help” outside the normal channels will have an opinion ..IF they found a solution. I personally did after agonising weeks feeling like it was ... let’s try this with no real experience or knowledge to back up the treatment other than ... I think this may help !!! I made an appointment wit a dr Neil Mckay at Murrayfield spite hospital in Edinburgh. Superb .. straight talking man who knows his subject and very quickly put me on the correct road !!! I wish your friend well and hope he finds a similar ... straight talking consultant . This disease is a dreadful illness which if allowed will destroy you ... all good wishes !
Like Jjoy, I was first diagnosed by Professor David D'Cruz as a private patient.
Hi Natalie I personally would direct my investigations and treatments through the NHS my experience privatly has not been good over my working years there is limited communication towards NHS and clinics are not forthcoming with information if things should occur later on and you are not coverd by private policy overall The NHS are more thourough and are not constantly reminding you of allowances
