Any bowel problems with GPA?: Hi, for several... - Vasculitis UK
Any bowel problems with GPA?
I have been having the same problem, I am MPA. I have to be careful what I eat. I havent told the consultant yet, because we are booked for a holiday on 13 May, but when we get back I will definitely need to do something.
Hi thanks for your reply tiachibird. I saw the vasculitis nurse practioner yesterday. As the colonoscopy didn't show inflammation she didn't think it was caused by vasculitis. She did say she would discuss it with the consultant. My GP Is checkng for elastane? in a stool sample he requested. Apparently it's something your pancreas can excrete. Waiting on the results. Enjoy your holiday and if your consultant comes up with anything I would love to hear from you.
Best wishes Ludo

Hi
Have you been tested for coeliac disease? It's another autoimmune disease, and once you have one, you have an increased chance of others. I have GPA, and I'm also coeliac. It means a lifelong gluten free diet but does free you from being tied to the small room. A blood test is needed in the first instance, it is then confirmed by endoscopy.
Many thanks gillygirl. I will get it checked out.
