Hi everyone, it's been a couple of months since i've been on here and l have a question which hopefully one of you can answer for me please.
I've had a badly bruised right shin for the last couple of months or so, and the shin hurts when l walk. First l thought it was because of the broken vertebra in my back; which has led to sciatica amongst other issues! Anyway when l went to my Vas' Clinic, l was told it was the steroids that were doing this. At first l took it as read, as l was still reducing my pred' having had a severe chest infection in December last; l'm now back down to the level of pred' - 5mg - l was on in November.
l still have the bruising which covers the whole of my shin, is still hurting and painful to walk on; which subsequently hurts my back. Any advice anyone.

Try Arnica Tablets and Arnica Cream to break up the bruising.
I have used it since I was a kitten and when I had a snapped tendon after the op the surgeon said try Arnica for the bruising, I laughed and told him I already did use it.
When I was on pred, bruising came at the slightest knock...........if it lasted for more than three days, cream and a tablet.
However, before you try it or buy it, check with your Pharmacist that it is compatible with every medication you are already taking. This is something you should do with a change in prescription or before buying OTC or trying Homeopathic.
Oddly enough, I met a lady this week while on vacation who has the same thing. I do as well. It's odd because the patch of bruising (actually a kind of moddled (?) Look stops at the sock line?? It's not from Sun as I have jeans on most of the time. Sort of itches but not much
Hi PMRpixie, hope you're having a nice holiday. Glad to hear - if you know what l mean - that it's not just me with this issue. Glad l'm seeing my GP tomorrow as it's been a B****y nuisance today with a pulsating feeling along the shin plus the pain!
I've just about had enough - don't worry l'll not do anything stupid - and l hope that my GP will listen to me.
Wonder if others are out there with the same thing? Bad headache today😟 keep me posted on your legs and do update me as to what your Dr says. They never seem to have any answers do they?
