I’ve been turned away from many also. Still trying but it seems I will be left with the crappy no medical companies, unless anyone knows of anyone who can provide a reasonable rate ?

I certainly have and unless it’s one of those crappy no medical policies then I have been quoted ridiculous amounts.

My biggest problem is travel insurance. One example, I wanted to go on a cheap 5 day stag do in Benidorm. The price to stay and flights came to just £160 but my health travel insurance was £800 and this was the average amount when I took the 7 quotes I applied for.

I never travelled in the end and I missed out on a great party. I wouldn’t take the risk of going without insurance as I used to. I do sort of understand why it’s high but £800 for 5 days is just barmy. Can you recommend any companies who are GPA friendly please ?

Try Boots Holiday Insurance online, their screening process was more realistic & fairer than the regular 'pre-existing condition' companies who all seemed to follow the same series of questions. We both got covered for a week in Spain last November for £80. If anyone is travelling with you & would want to cancel if you were to take ill & unable to travel, you must be on the same policy otherwise that person(s) may not be able to claim a refund for cancellation from a different insurer. Hope you manage to get something sorted for future holidays.
