A friend of mine has been diagnosed with vasculitis, we have just found out that his kidneys are leaking now. Has anyone experienced this, if so what are the long term effects? Thanks

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your friend but I am afraid it's impossible to answer this without knowing what type of Vasculitis your friend has ( there are over 18 different types ) and the treatment that they have been given.

By leaking do you mean there is blood and protein in the urine? Has your friends renal function ( blood tests ) been affected?

Hi

He has HSP vasculitis and is being given steroids and immunosuppression drugs. And yes his kidneys are leaking protein in his urine.
