I tend to follow a dairy free and anti Inflammatory diet.I still eat bad things - but few and far between. I also focus on the paleo diet - less strain on your body. (I mean you can just buy 100 aldi nut bars)... I have alot of veg juice, most mornings celery juice with lemon or kiwi. Tumeric with a little black pepper (again I juice mine) or a Curcumin supplement (it's the bioactive compound). It's also one of the few herbal supplements clinically linked to anti inflammatory and anti cancer properties.

I don't really follow one recepie. Pineapple core (for bromelian), celery, spinach, tumeric, ginger, black pepper (to activate the turmeric)...should always be more veg than fruit. Use citrus or kiwi to balance out taste.

I would advise to avoid any strict diet. Eat healthy, add vegetables and fruits in your diet and avoid processed food.

If you are thinking to change your diet radically, please discuss it with your doctor.

Hi, Glenville,

I changed my diet a year ago, less joint pain, less ulcers. My Rheumatologist is very happy with my blood tests...

Fresh vegetables, fruit, turmeric. Absolutely avoid processed food

No dairy. No white food such as bread. Cake. West pasta; You can have sprouted bread.

No sodas and most of all NO sugar

Well, it sounds extreme but after a month or so your body adjusts positive to the new diet.

Give it a try 😊

Last point on here as many have said cut down on processed foods. You don't have to go mad - but if you're reading the ingredients of something and it's full of crap don't eat it. Equally so, let's be realistic, eat sausages etc if you have to, but don't eat cheap ones the difference is huge. (fillers, antibiotics, water, bleachers, colouring, steroids, fats, reformed)

Following a well balanced diet is essential. If you make any drastic changes to your diet or want to take any alternative products. Please discuss with your consultant and you maybe referred to a dietitian. If you have kidney problems there is an excellent recipe book available on the Kidney UK website.

I followed the Slimming World diet for a while and lost weight fairly quickly. I wasn't strict with it, and didn't go to the group, just used some old recipe books. It's basically just cutting out processed food and junk food, and eating healthily. I found that because it's a lifestyle change rather than a set short term diet, it was much easier to follow and stick with.

I stopped following it and got back into bad habits, so the weight's gone back on, so I'm starting it again once I do my next big shop (I'm back on 20mg steroids, so I bought about five tons of crisps last time I went shopping :o )
