Apparently in an episode of embarrassing bodies there was somebody with Lupus who had this problem and was prescribed some medication which made a big improvement, does anyone know what this was, or does anyone know of any other treatment that can help?
Does anyone have any solutions to the proble... - Vasculitis UK
Does anyone have any solutions to the problem of painful, sore, tender or burning feet?
Hi Susan,
I didn't see the programme but one of the staple meds in Lupus is plaquenil, I don't know if this is the one that you are referring too.
Peripheral vascular disease or Raynauds could also be responsible, I know that nifedipine is a treatment for that.
I hope you get some better replies

Thank you for your replies.. we have been contacted by a lady from Iran and a gentleman from South Africa both wanting some advice on how to treat painful sore feet. The gentleman from South Africa had heard about the UK programme "Embarrassing Bodies" discussing painful feet with a patient with Lupus.
I had these same symptoms for 4 or so years Norspan patches 30 mg per hour ,absolutely did wonders , life saver there are three other brands they say keep them on for 7 days I go 5 , you get maybe a crook hour or two per day but the rest of the time it's bliss

Dear Suzy,
I haven't heard anything specific, regarding sore FEET, but general advice, relating to sore anything, is to rub the affected area with a 'soft' cream and keep it elevated. I don't know if this will help but, since it can't do any harm, it might be worth a try. The 'trace' elements, mentioned by 'gsmith above', is an interesting idea that I hadn't come across before-might be worth a try.
In any event I wish you all well.
Kind regards
AndrewT
