ESA explanation needed please

After returning my forms today I received a letter today telling me that my ''incapacity benefit'' is changing to. Contribution-based Employment and Support Allowance. Can anyone explain what this is and what it entails. Many thanks

If you worked prior to going onto incapacity benefit you used to get contributions based indefinately.When you are migrated over to esa conts you get it for a year then you can claim the means tested esa. if you are however in the support group you get to keep the conts its only if you go into the wrag work related activity group does it exhaust.worth speaking to welfare rights

I'm in the middle of sorting out the same thing! Fortunately I have the support of my family, primarily my mother, and also Headway; a 'brain injury' charity that I attend. Do you have any support groups that you can turn to? If not the C.A.B. might be able to help, mind you, they are often very busy. If I find out anything 'concrete' I'll let you know.
