Lowering eye pressure
Pre
trabeculectomy
I was on lantoprost for 3 months and it didn’t really lower my eye pressure and for the other eye I was on it for 6 months pre surgery. Tried fixapost and Timolol briefly before surgery and i don’t think it worked.

How long to wait for trabeculectomy?
I'm wondering how long people have waited for a
trabeculectomy
operation, once they have been told they need one, either through NHS or going private?

Failed Trabeculectomy
I have a failed
trabeculectomy
. 😢 Operated June 2022 with pressure of 16. Too high so 2 stitches were taken out and then pressure dropped to 2 and wouldn't come up so had to add a stitch to the bleb going through the conjunctiva.

Dry eye following Trabeculectomy
Hello I had a right
trabeculectomy
nearly 4 months ago & all was well until about a week ago. I have used regular lubricating drops as I have had the same surgery in my left eye that was complicated by uveitis.

Hello & this trabecule type thing!
Next stop is the
Trabeculectomy
(which I can’t even pronounce or spell, never mind get my head around it!). Wondering how people managed under a local anesthetic?

How to increase scarring after trabeculectomy
My husband (30m) had a
trabeculectomy
in his left eye in August 2023. It is now November 2023 and the IOP is only up to 7. His vision in that eye has never recovered (it does temporarily if he does something a little strenuous like walking up a steep hill).

Hi, my consultant wants me to have a
Trabeculectomy
because my field test is not good, but, my pressures are only 10 and 11 in each eye. Has anyone else had a suggestion like this? I am worried my pressure will go too low and create more problems. Thanks

How accurate is a visual field test?
Due to increased eye pressure , I had a
trabeculectomy

Whose advice should I follow?
I had a
trabeculectomy
18 months ago. Last July I went to a Moorfields virtual clinic for monitoring. I received a letter from the doctor a few days later to say that my visual field on the operated eye was gradually worsening & that I would be seen at the Consultant led clinic four months later.

A success story
I had one
trabeculectomy
in 2018 and the other in 2019. These were not without problems and much further work was required to try and get pressures down to favourable levels. Finally we achieved around 14 and 18 in each eye.

Any tips on coping with problems with reading?
I have normal tension glaucoma and a
trabeculectomy
is in the cards if deterioration starts happening Has anyone got any tips about gadgets to help with reading? There seem to be aids that magnify, but I feel I want to make the page smaller, so that more if it fits into my area of vision.

Cataract Surgery after Trabeculectomy
Pressure rose in my eye with
trabeculectomy
I had a year ago. Doctor wants me to do cataract surgery before he does bleb needling. Anyone done cataract surgery after a
trabeculectomy
? How was it? Did it affect your bleb? Was anything special done to minimize negative consequences on the bleb?

Changes to visual field a year after trabeculectomy
Whilst my eye pressures are well controlled in both eyes and optic disc, OCT imaging remain stable, the visual field test for the eye that I had a
trabeculectomy
on last year, suggests possible slow changes compared to previous tests.

Upcoming Trabeculectomy
He has stated that a
trabeculectomy
is the only way forward now to give me the best chance of preserving usable sight for as long as is possible.

Reaction to trabeculectomy
I'm 66 and it was decided that as drops were no longer controlling pressure, I needed to have
trabeculectomy
in both eyes.

Trabeculectomy or not?
My old glaucoma consultant has retired and I have a new, younger consultant who seems determined that I should have a
trabeculectomy
. My old consultant was against it. Now not sure what to do? Any advice?

Cystic trabeculectomy bleb advice please.
My right eye followed resulting in an emergency
trabeculectomy
which has at least preserved some central vision. You will understand that I worry about any risk of losing more vision. Does anyone have experience of cystic bleb? Should I worry? Is there anything I should be doing?
