Trabeculectomy or not?
My old glaucoma consultant has retired and I have a new, younger consultant who seems determined that I should have a
trabeculectomy
. My old consultant was against it. Now not sure what to do? Any advice?

Cystic trabeculectomy bleb advice please.
My right eye followed resulting in an emergency
trabeculectomy
which has at least preserved some central vision. You will understand that I worry about any risk of losing more vision. Does anyone have experience of cystic bleb? Should I worry? Is there anything I should be doing?

Moorfields Secretary no longer contactable
when I had my
trabeculectomy
I was given a telephone number for the Moorfields nurse which I think go through to a Central switchboard for all the Moorfields hospitals. But when I have tried to ring for advice, I haven’t been able to get through.

Longtime glaucoma patient
I then had my 1st
trabeculectomy
and cataract removed. In those days it was under anaesthetic and in hospital for a week. 6 months later had the other eye done. My Consultant told me I had a 50/50 chance as they didn’t know what damage was done to my optic nerve.

However, my consultant has said that I should have an Aqueous Shunt or
Trabeculectomy
, maybe they are the same, I do not know as I can't get them to talk about it. My right eye is half gone but left is holding its own at present.

Has anyone experienced a
trabeculectomy
in their only sighted eye? I lost sight in my right eye in 1998 due to a brain haemorrhage. The left eye is a lazy eye but I have 20/20 vision with variafocals.

I had my

Post Trab pressure rise
Could this mean
trabeculectomy
failure? Could it be just a spike? If it remains high what might be done to get it low again? Can needling be done at this point? Thanks for you thoughts!

Trabeculectomy at 18
Hi I had a
Trabeculectomy
back in July and sadly my vision has never been the same. The first few weeks my surgeon was surprised because everything went well, my vision was the same and my eye pressure dropped to a good level (13) from what it was (57).

DVLA licence renewal
It was a very stressful time as I had a
trabeculectomy
, corrective surgery and cataract removal before embarking on the vision test. The Specsavers team was very helpful in deferring my test until I felt ready to take it. I was very relieved to pass and be issued with a two year licence .

Vision in the recovery weeks ( and long term) after a trabeculectomy.
Im aware that everyone is different and there will be a range of experiences but my questions for those of you who have had a
trabeculectomy
are:- How did you find your vision during the recovery period?

Appealing DVLA test results
I've now had
trabeculectomy
in both eyes, last one 18 months ago. I've been doing the yearly DVLA test for 3 years. Late December last year I did the annual test and my license was revoked in January.

Anxiety after trabeculectomy (5 weeks)
I had a
Trabeculectomy
5 weeks ago and my eye is still pretty blurry, it feels like the blurriness is getting worse. I get random symptoms in my eye and it's made my anxiety pretty bad. For anyone who had the surgery how long did the blurriness last?

Brown circles around eyes with Lumigan
I don’t think my consultant would change my eyedrops lightly because I am experiencing progressive sight loss in one eye (have already had a
trabeculectomy
) and I think the options for other drops are running out.

trabeculectomy
I am reluctant to have a
trabeculectomy
after cataract operation and I stent did not help and glasses cannot correct vision to read. My left eye is better following same operation about two years ago.

Referral to another hospital
Last week I was being referred to a Specialist at another hospital, as they have exhausted all that they can do at my current hospital and this area is not something they specialise in, they also think I may have Plateaux Iris…..they are taking about me needing a

Trabeculectomy and theme parks
I had a trab done in one eye following trauma induced high IOP last June. Pressures have been stable since November at around 14.I'm going to a theme park soon (Disney Paris - very excited!) - does anyone know if there are restrictions on roller-coasters with trabs? I'm going with kids, so won't be doing
