any suggestions welcome on my T4 T3 results.

My symptoms came back for my underactive thyroid. However TSH level normal range at 0.33. So had T3 and T4 tested. My T3 was 3.3 (out of range) and my T4 was 16.5 (normal range) my doctor has increased my dose by 25mcg every other day. Is there anything else I could be doing to help myself?

Please can you post the range for FT3 and FT4? It sounds like you need to take some T3. It is odd though that your TSH was 0.33 if fT3 was low and out of range, I would expect it to be high - this could possibly indicate a pituitary problem. xx

t3 range is 4.0-6.3 and t4 12.0-22.0 thanks for your response

Well I think you need to go back to your doctor and ask for a referral to an endo. I do think you need to take some direct T3 as it doesn't look as though the T4 that you are taking is being converted to T3 as it should be. xxx

so your T3 is low and your T4 is fine and the doctor thinks that giving you more T4 will solve it? What happens to doctors common sense, is it knocked out of them at medical school? Sounds like you need to take T3. (I'm assuming that by out of range you mean below range?)

Well I think she might reconsider that statement if it were her T3! lol Considering that most people feel best when their T3 is at the top of the range, that makes quite a difference. I certainly wouldn't want mine that low.

And for how long is she intending to continue upping your T4 every other day? Because that is far too fast. The body hasn't got time to adjust. It should be every six weeks.

But I agree with the others, it does look like you have a conversion problem and need T3. But I don't know how you're going to get that across to her! She sounds really ignorant.

Hugs, Grey
