Waiting for test results for hypothyroidisum as I haven't been officially diagnosed as yet, I'm currently taking 10mg Ramipril and 5mg of Felodipine for high blood pressure, would it be ok to take Levothyroxine too?

No reason not to. I take 3 lots of blood pressure meds and one of them is Felodipine. Good luck with your test results.....x
Hi Make sure you have tSH, T4 and Free T3 done for a proper diagnosis. Possible thyroid cause of your high BP. Also I hope that you had a 24 hour home monitor first from the GP. Often BP appears high, called white coat syndrome. At home, self measuring or GP 24 hour monitor tells a different story. If high BP make sure you have a Cholesterol check, thyroid disease can put this up too and any way vital with high BP.Lots of BP drugs, GP`s ,unlike cardio`s usually start with the cheapest, so if it does not suite you, get it changed.
Best wishes,
Jackie

When they started my bp meds my bp was 214/124, I thought the doc was going to have a coronary he was so shocked. I think he just wanted me on something to get it down, that was back in Jan. My meds have been slowly going up as my bp has been very slow in coming down last week it was 168/114. I'm having a 24 hr monitor on Tues so hopefully they'll have a slightly clearer picture by Wed, and my thyroid blood testes will be back by then too. I'll definitely ask exactly what tests I've had and ask about the tests you mention Jackie. To be honest I'm surprised that I've had to ask for a thyroid test as I have a lot of the classic symptoms, weight gain, moon face, dry skin, brittle hair, constipation, mood swings my periods have stopped. I think they were putting a lot of it down to the menopause.
Let's hope next week sees some big changes.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
