Does anyone know where can I get a telephone appointment with a Doctor?
You can book a telephone appointment with your GP. Other than that you have to phone NHS Direct and if they think it warrants speaking to a doctor they get one to phone you back, usually they will just tell you to see your GP or if its urgent then to go to A & E, to be quite honest the one time a GP phoned me back through NHS Direct he wasnt very helpful.
Hi Most doctors start by looking at the patient and then listen ( if good) so, although sometimes you an have follow up consultations,by phone, Mostly I think with a private consultant, the norm. is to see one I think that is best for patient and doctor as they spot things no one knew about, if good. I hope that helps. You can use on line doctors but personally I would not recommend that!
Best wishes,

If you require a consultation - probably the best would be with one of Thyroiduk.org sympathetic doctors (private) or a consultation with a sympathetic NHS Endo. Please email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org for details.
At my GP practice this is the ONLY way to see a Doctor: Phone, and the receptionist will arrange a Doctor (the duty one for that day) to call back. This is usually within an hour or so, and it is the only way an appointment to see one can be made - it means many appointments and journeys are unnecessary and it is quick (good points!), but can be very hard to get through in the morning, sometimes meaning a visit to the surgery to get in contact(!), not good for those still at work, plus, hard to contact the Doctor you want to speak to, and (particularly for me) for those with telephone "problems" eg. I have difficulty using the phone due to my OCD and some deafness (bad points!)
I have also seen a private consultant who also will do some follow up appointments by phone, after an initial personal visit (some circumstances), and in that situation saved a lot of money as it was well over 200miles round trip!
