Hi Amusk - do you have the reference ranges for those test results - they need to come from your own report as they vary by lab? Thanks. xx
...and also, are you taking any thyroid replacement? If so, how much?

Hiya, I'm not taking anything, I've never had a thyroid problem, just had the tests done to try and figure out why I'm feeling ill. Not sure about reference ranges. The doctor said that the normal tsh range was from 0.55. He also said that one result suggested and overactive thyroid (the tsh I assume) and another suggested underactive.

My FT4 range is 12-22 so if yours is the same then this looks pretty low. Other FT4 reference ranges are quite different though. Could you ring you GP surgery and ask them - we do really need this to offer sensible advice xx
If your TSH is suggesting overactive (because it is low) and the others are suggesting underactive (also low) it could be secondary hypothyroidism. This can be due to your pituitary not producing enough TSH to tell your thyroid to produce enough thyroid hormones.
As Clarebear says, it would be helpful to know what the reference range is for T4. You are right at the bottom of her range but right near the top of mine so it is difficult to know for sure where it really is.
I hope you get to the bottom of it soon so you can get the appropriate treatment

Thank you I will phone the docs tomorrow and ask for the reference range
Ask for B12 test - symptoms can be similar.

Ok. Here's my results with ranges.
TSH - 0.51 (0.55- 0.48)
T3 - 5.1 (3.5- 6.5)
T4 - 12.7 (11.5- 22.7)
Any info or explanations of these results would be great. Thank you
Anyone?
Hi
Can I suggest that you post your results as a new question - comments sometimes get missed.
