Feeling strangely hyper....

My GP changed my thyroxine to 75 mcg one day, and 100 mcg the next. Been doing this for about 3 months, but now I feel as though I've gone back being hyper again. My blood pressure is ok, but my heart beat is now 101 to 103 per minute instead of 80 ish. I can hear the blood 'swooshing' in my left ear sometimes, and I feel very jittery and just not right. I'm also getting migrainey headaches more frequently. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Tis horrible!

Sounds as if your levels may be fluctuating, which would be quite typical of autoimmune thyroid disorder. Obviously, not being medically trained, I'm not in a position to advise you, but I know that if this was happening to me, I would try dropping my dose back down for a few days to see if it helped.

I deliberately didn't take any thyroxine this morning, and will just take 75mcg a day for a week or so and see if that makes a difference. I will also make an appointment with my GP, just to be sure it's not anything too dodgy.

Hi I came on here this morn to ask the same question then seem your post. I've got a mix of symptoms normally hypo but I've been really agitated jumpy, hyper. It got so bad yesterday, family said to lay off the coffee, lol I hadn't had any but could feel I was talking fast anxious, now today I'm jumpy but fatigued. I have hashi, autoimmune, I didn't realise it could fluctuate back and fore. I feel blooming awful

Hi twinks. Yes you can jump about with Hashi. It happens to me quite a lot. I had my dose put up from 75 to 75/100 alternate days. Heart started playing up after a while and I put it back down to 75. I told my doctor what I had done and he was ok with that. Will try taking it up a bit later. With Hashis you have to read what your body is telling you...it makes it quite clear! Fortunately I have a doctor who understands that but many people wont.

The gp said b4 that it takes months for changes in meds to affect you, I think hes wrong unless I heard him incorrectly........ If I alter meds how quick will it help me with these symptoms?
