Mary,
These could simply be symptoms of hypothyroidism. Some people have problems eating due to lack of saliva that will eventually respond to treatment.
However they could be from Sjogren Syndrome. I suggest you follow this link:
emedicine.medscape.com/arti...
(You might need to register - but it is free and entirely trustworthy.)
And there is a British support group:
The only thing I have are dry eyes (and I am sure they are not due to Sjogrens) for which I found Viscotears very effective. Put in just before going to sleep, they can last pretty much all night. I use the single dose version which does not contain any preservatives. Unfortunately they are expensive (ten pounds for 30 - but you can just about manage to make one do both eyes).
Autoimmune diseases often occur in association with each other and autoimmune thyroid diseases and Sjogrens are known sometimes to occur together.
All the best
Rod

Mary,
So it sounds like you probably do not have primary Sjogrens.
Are you able to post at least your most recent blood test results?
I assume that you are aware of the need to take your thyroxine with water, well away from food and other medicines, etc.?
