Hi I just wondered if anyone has problems with their glands in the neck? I have recently been diagnosed with an under active thyroid but keep suffering with swollen glands under my chin I have no other illness they just swell up. Could their be a connection to the thyroid?

Yes that happens to me. It lasts for about a day. Then disappears for a while!

Glad its no only me that has this problem although mine can sometimes last longer than a day, it seems to be getting worse.

This is something I am currently trying to find out about - my GP said that the golfballs I have just under the front of my jaw are saliva glands, but my dental hygienist said no. I am waiting for an appointment with my dentist before I have yet another discussion with my GP. Mine don't disappear, but they are huge.

I also have "lumps" above my clavicles which are, apparently, "nothing to worry about". I googled so much, as I was worried, and found one reference to this being something connected to hypothyroidism, and that it wasn't anything to be concerned about. Needless to say, my doctors don't know anything about it :(

I have been to ENT about my swollen glands they gave me an ultra sound scan but at the time they weren't swollen (typical) so have discharged me. Are your glands painful like mine are?

I was told they were saliva glands too.

No, they are not painful, but mine don't disappear and seem to be a permanent fixture now. Until I check with my dentist, I guess I won't know if they are saliva glands or not (I don't trust a doctor to know because they seem to get everything else wrong :( )

mine are almost permanently swollen but often hurt but not always. Good luck finding the answer.
