Possible symptoms of adrenal problem?

I am wondering if occasionally raised cortisol levels might be a symptom of adrenal insufficiency. Over the last year two thyroid blood tests also checked cortisol and the cortisol levels were above reference range. However, a more recent 24 hour urine cortisol test measured pretty low, 70 nmol (0-275).

I do not understand these results but I do occasionally feel unusually hyper with associated stomach upsets. These symptoms pass within a couple of hours but I am wondering what to do to resolve this. I would be grateful for any comments from someone who has a similar experience that they have managed to resolve.

Sorry you haven’t had a reply yet, what are your latest thyroid blood test results? Could you be a little overreplaced?

It’s a fine balance and I’ve been there too, I’m not great on cortisol sorry other than it should be high in toe morning and reduce during the day, but if it’s swinging about maybe ask GP for a referral.

Many thanks for your reply. I am about to have new thyroid blood tests done after reducing my levothyroxine nearly 8 weeks ago. I have reduced my levothyroxine twice in the last year so really don't think my current dose is too high but will send off bloods next week. My GP is convinced my symptoms are not related to cortisol but I think I may request a referral to an endocrinologist because I certainly have a number of symptoms of cortisol problems. Of course symptoms may be related to a number of different health issues. Thanks.
