thyroid tests abnormal

Hello

I got my 6 week results following an increase of Levo from 50mcgs to 100mcgs.

The tests are as follows:

TSH - 0.02 range (0.35-4.94)

T3 - 4.30 range (2.63-5.7)

T4 - 19.20 range (9.01-19.05)

I feel the best in a long time but GP wants to decrease meds!

Don’t let your GP decrease your levothyroxine because they are going by your TSH which is a pituitary hormone not a thyroid hormone. It is the T4 and T3 that actually counts. You will become ill if you allow this to happen

Yes- I’m really not happy as I actually feel well for a change and my menstrual period has only just returned.

Exactly. The gp has no idea how to treat hypothyroid imo

Refuse to reduce dose

Retest again in another 3-4 months

Likely to see TSH risen a bit by then

Insist on testing vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin at next test

ALWAYS early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
