Hi all, newbie here! So, I've had my second lot of bloods back TSH 7.95 T4 10. (first bloods TSH 8.25 T4 12) I'm also having symptoms. I am due to speak to the doctor next week to see where we go from here. Do you think I will be put on medication to control my thyroid levels or will they want to wait and see again!? I'm having lots of different symptoms the worse is fatigue. Many thanks.

Thyroid test results

Welcome to the forum Yesmate,
So we can offer better advice, can you tell us more about your thyroid condition, eg ongoing symptoms, in addition to fatigue mentioned. Please can you add ranges (in brackets after results ) for: TSH & FT4 (as these can vary between laboratories)
was FT3 tested?
Also add any antibody and key vitamin tests (ferritin, folate, vitamins D and B12). Antibody tests will show if your thyroid condition is auto immune (AKA Hashimotos).
If your GP is unable to complete all the above (eg if TSH is within range, some surgeries may not be able to access FT4 and FT3 tests), you could look to do this privately, as many forum members do, for a better picture of your thyroid health:

GPS require several blood tests showing significantly elevated TSH before Levothyroxine is prescribed. AsTSH should always be under 2, with most members here reporting they feel best when this falls closer to/ under 1, your results show your thyroid is struggling.
+1 for buddy.I presume.T4 is at bottom of range. It is really helpful to state range as they vary between labs.
In most treatment is simple, but it does take months to get to correct dose and your body to repair.
Forum is dominated by say 10% who have problems, do not be scared by it, know that if needed help is here. The admins are amazing

As you have had two separate NHS tests with TSH over 5 and have symptoms you should be offered trial on levothyroxine
Starting levothyroxine - flow chart
gps.northcentrallondonccg.n...
Standard STARTING dose is 50mcg
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Request GP test thyroid antibodies and vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 if these haven’t been tested yet
