Hi, 😊I am getting back on track with my NDT after a recent upset and have ordered a Medichecks Active B12 test as I have never had this tested.(My recent follate results were high but within normal range and I have read this may be a sign of problems with B12??) It says to stop B supplements for 2 weeks. Is it really necessary to stop? I am just getting back on track and don't want to upset anything else. I have been taking B multi for years and recently switched to Ignneus Bs. I understand it, it takes years to get B vits out of your system. I eat meat and eggs btw.
I know to stop biotin before any tests. How many days do people recommend for this? What's the minimum?
I have looked on here but am getting conflicting advice.
Thanks 😊

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-6 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 if last test result serum B12 was below 500 or active B12 (private test) under 70
