I've recently been diagnosed with an 11mm nodule on my LHS lobe of my thyroid. Hypoechoic, predominantly solid. Dr has said watch and wait. Not recommended to have biopsy.
TSH- 0.60
Currently waiting for blood results for T antibodies, free T3, free T4.
I have heart palpitations/irregular heart beat, struggle to loose weight, exhausted all the time, dark circles on my dark circles, insomnia, dry eyes, Almost completely grey hair, sleep paralysis, all over weakness, back pain.
Have a few other symptoms. But I honestly put it all down to being a mum, starting a business, overwork and getting a bit older. ( I know 33 isn't old)
I eat healthy, don't drink alcohol, non-smoker, I exercise every day and drink about 3 ltrs of water a day.
I was putting some sunscreen on my neck and noticed a little lump. Otherwise I would have just kept going until I crashed and burned.
I went to the Gp who referred me for an ultrasound.
The Dr wants me to wait to have a yearly review. Should I push to have that bought forward to a 3-6 monthly review?
I get the feeling my Gp hasn't got in depth knowledge or experience with the thyroid and has based his assessment on the ultrasound report not having a high % chance of malignancy.
Honestly, I'm feeling so stressed right now.
I have 4 kids. If I go down the whole ship sinks.
Advice please.

Nodules on thyroid are actual pretty common and a high percentage of population have them, most go unnoticed & the vast majority which are detected are both benign & do not affect thyroid function.
Most nodules don’t funtion (cold) but that doesn’t affected funtion of remaining thyroid. Some function as ordinary thyroid (warm). Occasionally they over function (hot or toxic). Function can’t be shown on ultrasound so its good your thyroid funtion & antibodies are being tested. It’s also positive that the scan doesn’t show any concerning features.
Annual monitoring is standard because thyroid issues, even if they do occur are extremely slow growing.
Post your thyroid function results once you have them. Always obtain a copy of results with lab ranges.
I have a 5cm nodule and due to it being a larger size I was offered fine need aspiration. This was cleared as benign but the function results were not processed correctly & abnormal funtion was missed. Which is why it’s always recommended you obtain copy of results.
