I recently had a ct scan and a nodule was found on my thyroid and swollen lymph nodes.I have had the blood work done for the thyroid levels today and next week I go for an ultrasound. I also have psoriasis. Needless to say I'am very concerned about what they might find. Has anyone else gone through this?

Thyroid nodule
Hi Penny, I wouldn't worry unnecessarily about the nodule but it does show something going on there. If it is autoimmune, they often pile up and you have to look for causes. I've been posting videos by Dr. Bergman who ties this altogether as he knows you have to since the body is very interrelated. I think this is a good foundation if you want to learn why the body may react the way it is. He believes there are very good reasons for everything your body does.
Hi- nodules are quite common and usually nothing to worry about. (I.e. not cancerous in 95% of cases, according to some sources.) I had 2 a few years ago and both went away. That said, they can indicate other issues: mine were related to hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's. I have read often that psoriasis can also go hand in hand with Hadhimoto's.
Thank you Julie, I always think the worse. Fingers crossed it's something treatable like yours
Pennywise, most nodules aren't a problem and don't require treatment. The ultrasound scan will determine the size and condition of the thyroid gland and nodule. If the nodule looks suspicious and is >1cm they may want to do a fine needle aspiration biopsy but 95% of nodules are benign.
