Ferritin/iron tests

Are these tests especially difficult to do as finger prick? A few months back I attempted to do these via medichecks and both the original and retest came back as hemolysed. I spoke to the lady about why that could be.

I have done a test with monitor my health and have just had that come back as hemolysed too, they are sending out a second kit.

I have no idea how I can make this test not be hemolysed. I am confident I took this last one properly, no massaging, squeezing or scraping my finger on the tube.

that’s a pain, I have had a ferritin refunded once for this reason. It could be that they’ve been damaged by shaking in the post perhaps. I agree it’s blooming annoying.

Could you ask the GP to run it when you next test with them with a blood draw? Mine are quite accommodating as I explain the supplement is high strength the bleeding is excessive etc so difficult to balance.

I am still waiting for the replacement kit this time but if that fails I will try asking the GP. I think they may refuse to test my b12 as I had it done in July... Heaven forbid you should check too often.

Haven't had a message from medichecks yet so hopefully at least my vit D goes through.

I bought the anemia kit to do b12, and folate as it was more affordable via MMH. It's only said folate and HB failed... Don't know what HB is... I assume b12 failed too as not heard anymore.

HB is haemoglobin. The one that GPs use to say if you are anaemic or not. That would be affected but the damaged blood cells too. Must be shaken in transit I’m thinking.
