Levothyroxine & Liothyronine meds timing for annual thyroid review - afternoon blood test only available

Hi, I’ve my annual review at the beginning of Feb and have not been able to get a morning appointment, the earliest is just after 2.00pm. I’ve tried to change day and time without success.

What should I do in terms of meds (T4 & T3)? I take both together through the night, usually between 2 - 4 am. Should I skip this dose, change timings of dose the day before?

Any suggestions much appreciated! I know my TSH is out of range and is suppressed because of T3.

many thanks 🙂

I would follow the same timings as you did for your Medichecks results a few weeks ago, your low TSH should trigger a fT4 result which if similar (60%) should mean you can argue the toss about low TSH, in the past they seem to have turned a blind eye anyway 🤷‍♀️

As you take levothyroxine at bedtime and test is 2pm

I would split your levothyroxine only taking half night before at bedtime. Take remaining half after test

split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

So you could take morning 1/3rd of dose T3 waking

Thanks SlowDragon I did try replying yesterday but there were glitches somewhere. Very useful advice!
