Well my long awaited NHS appointment was interesting! The Endo didn’t bother to do any bloods and basically agreed to prescribe T3 as long as I acknowledged the potential danger to my heart! I stopped taking my vitamins and magnesium a week before and experienced quite severe arthritic joint pain so was glad to get back on them.
I have been on T3 for nearly a year now and I can’t say I have felt much difference. My levels are all within range (will post updated results in the new year). In the meantime …. Has anyone experienced blurred vision taking Liothyronine? I only take 10mg so on a low dose.

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test ALWAYS split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test
If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
Monitor My Health (NHS private test service) offer thyroid and vitamin testing, plus cholesterol and HBA1C for £65
I take 100mg Levo. (Almus brand.) plus I take 10 mg liothyronine both in the morning. Seem to sleep better if I avoid taking t3 at night. I get very tired in the evenings wanting to fall asleep by 7pm. I was hoping the t3 would help that.
Also if your thyroid levels are off it can affect your vision. When I was really hyper I had double vision and dry eyes so I used sone eye drops to lubricate my eyes
My daughter was very tired on 150mcg levo so Endo agreed to add 20mcg t3. He did say not to take it at night. On advise from the group she started with 5mcg in the morning then added another 5 mid afternoon. This was quite good but still fatigued for So she added a third dose late morning. 6 months ago she found she was asleep at 6pm so has now settled on 5mcg at 6am, 10mcg at 11am and 5mcg at 4pm. She has 20mcg tablets which she splits with a cheap pill splitter. She takes this with 125mcg lebo. This regime seems to suit her and she is able to fit it all in with her supplements and keeping away from food etc. Hope this is helpful.
Have you had your B12 levels checked? I had blurry vision in one eye which cleared up with regular B12 injections. I also have hypothyroidism and it seems there are many links and overlaps in symptoms with B12 deficiency.
