Welcome to our forum and a happy new year to you.

Which do you think has created the sleep disturbance, and are you sleeping too much or unable to sleep?

Figs are full of magnesium and so in theory should aid sleep but maybe the sugar content it too high for you. What time of day are you eating them?

25mcg Thyronorm is a very small amount to replace missing thyroid hormone and more likely to lower own production meaning your total could reduce. Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism? Do you have any test results with ranges (numbers in brackets) to share?

johnsonjohn, Unfortunately I don't think anyone here can really give you much help. This is a patient to patient forum. No-one here is medically qualified. I think you really need to consult with your own doctor. It may be that you need your dose of levothyroxine (Thyronorm) to be increased.

Ok well I'm pretty sure we don't have any fig experts here either.

If you feel the issue lays with eating figs, can you stop eating them?

Many members here have suffered sleep issues and anxiety due to long term insufficient thyroid hormones.

Well done 😊

Being hypo can create an awfully foggy brain and anxiety. I think the fig eating coincided with your feeling hypothyroidism symptoms and you have mistakenly connected the two. Figs don’t usually cause hypothyroidism but are a good healthy food.

TSH 3.474 (0.465-4.68)

FT4 0.95 (0.45-1.6)

Your results show FT4 to be well under half way through range which is insufficient for most people who medicate to function well. When our thyroid hormones remain insufficient long term the adrenals eventually kick in secreting large amounts of cortisol and adrenaline to support a failing thyroid gland. This can create severe anxiety and sleep issues.

You need an increase in your T4 meds asap to raise free T4 levels to higher in the test results range. Once maximised your meds should help you sleep better and reduce anxiety but you need to ensure a healthy diet to support your body’s maximum use of these hormones. I am sorry you feel so unwell.

While stopping eating fig fruit sleep patterns return to normal cycle or not

I agree with Redapple. I have had w Google about figs and seems they are a very nutrient packed food. They contain nutrients known to help with sleep not make it worse.

Sounds like this is an issue best explored with your doctor and it may become coincidental that you were eating figs when your issues worsened.

Also, there is a good amount of research (US studies) citing figs as very good for bone health & an all-around "super"food.

I am not a big fan of figs. Let’s say they make my metabolism go into overdrive 😲

Hello JohnsonJohn. Sorry you are unwell. People here have given good replies. They think you need more medication and the easy way is that you must speak to your doctor. No one here is a doctor. Please ask your doctor in India for help. Good luck.

You could be allergic to birch pollen and figs have a very high fibre content.

I eat them often and have one in my garden.
