I normally take 62.5 mcg of Tiromel, spread over the day (3/4 tab, 3/4 tab, 3/4 tab, 1/4 tab). Because a lot had been happening in my life recently and I constantly felt I was "on the verge" of something, my emotions getting the overhand, I thought maybe my current dose of Tiromel was too high for my adrenals (I have AI - untreated).
So last Monday I reduced my dose with 1/4 tab, going 3/4, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4. We are now Wednesday and I am extremely dizzy and have problems speaking properly.
Should I persevere with the reduced dose or up my dose again to the usual?
Hope someone knows what to do. Thanks in advance.

Soloslim, Sorry to sound negative, but it's really not possible for anyone to give you useful advice without a lot more information. At the very least, we need to see some recent thyroid blood test results to get an idea of where your FT3 was before you reduced your Tiromel dose.
And, is there any chance at all that the Tiromel tablets you're currently taking could be ineffective? Someone else has posted about this healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
RedApple, no problem whatsoever, you don't sound negative at all! I sometimes forget people cannot possible know what is evident to me.
FT4 1.3 (12-22)
FT3 5.63 (3.1-6.8)
TSH 0.01 (0.27-4.2)
Iron is fine.
Myt blood levels been more or less the same over the past years and I've been taking the same dose for many years as well.
However since my adrenals are not working as they should and I've been under a lot of stress lately I thought maybe my current dose was too heavy on the adrenals.
I know when tweaking T3 one should hold the new dose for some time but I can't remember for how long. Also I don't know if I'm feeling as dizzy as I'm now if it's advisable to persevere with a lower dose.
62.5mcg is not a massive dose and your blood test result, presumably on that dose, was not high (68% through the T3 range), so I would go back to your old dose.
Maybe you should test saliva cortisol as it is very hard to work out what is occurring otherwise.
Having said that, the only time I have been dizzy is when I have not taken the oestrogen part of HRT. Not sure if that could be relevant though?
I agree, based on that blood test no reason to reduce. I’d go back to your original dose if it were me.
Also - how is your B12? Folate? My anxiety spikes if mine drops even a tiny bit and I have to keep mine well over the normal range. Could be worth investigating.
Next time I have blood work done I will certainly ask. Most of the time it's OK though. Problem with supplementing folate is that I have never found a form that I can tolerate, as with almost everything. I've tried sooo many forms in the past, I simply gave up. (same with A LOT of other needed supplements - I simply cannot tolerate anything).
The injections are hydroxocobalamineacetae, about the only form I can tolerate.
Thank your for your reply. I did change back to my regular dose of T3 yesterday as I was feeling increasingly zombie.
I don't really see the relevance of another cortisol test really: I already know my adrenals are not functioning properply and there's nothing to be done about that. If they are getting worse I'll just have to accept it.
Tweaking my T3 dose is about the only thing I have control over.
I did not change anything about my HRT meds, thanks for thinking about that!
And I forgot to reply to your earlier question about less efficient Tiromel: I don't have the impression that it's working less efficiently.
